Our trade pricing is usually in the range of 30% to 50% off manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).

As an example, if we get 30% off:

  • A $1,000 item would cost us $700

  • 30% commission on $700 would be $210

  • The total cost for you would be $700 + $210 = $910, rather than the retail price of $1,000

  • 30% off and then 30% commission added on translates to a 9% discount when all is said and done

On the other end of the discount specturm, if we get 50% off:

  • A $1,000 item would cost us $500

  • 30% commission on $500 is $150

  • Total cost to you: $500 + $150 = $650

  • 50% off and then 30% commission added on translates to a 35% discount

We get trade discounts across the board, and this applies to retail stores like West Elm, Restoration Hardware, etc. But there are instances in retail where we might get less than a 30% discount. It can at times be 20% or 25%.

A 25% discount:

  • A $1,000 item would cost us $750

  • 30% commission on $750 is $225

  • Total cost to you: $750 + $225 = $975

  • 25% off and then 30% commission added on translates to a 2.5% discount

If we were to get 20% off, though:

  • A $1,000 item would cost us $800

  • 30% commission on $800 is $240

  • Total cost to you: $800 + $240 = $1040

  • 20% off and then 30% commission added on translates to a price increase of 4%.

Please note that we do keep our 30% commission consistent across the board, regardless of the discount we get. We find that the instances of client savings greatly outweigh the few instances of 4% increases.
